View active alarms from EMA or RM

To view the list of active alarms on an individual server, you can open the Enterprise Manager Agent Web application installed on every system server that communicates with the Enterprise Manager regarding any configuration changes or alarm messages for the relevant server. (EMA) or Recorder Manager (RM) application on a server.

Before you begin 

You must have View Alarms privileges to view the list of alarms for a managed server Server that is managed by the Enterprise Manager application. or a specific server role Entity that contains a logical, predefined set of components (system software or certified third-party software) deployed in the Data Center and Site Zones that provide specific functionality for the system..

Procedure

  1. Click System Management Module that allows performing suite-wide system management activities from a single, Web-based application, the Enterprise Manager. > Enterprise > Settings.

  2. In the Installations tree (left pane), select the specific Server node for which you want to view alarms.

  3. Click Launch.

  4. To open the respective application, click either Recorder Manager or Enterprise Manager Agent.

  5. Click Alarms > View Alarms > Active Alarms.

  6. To view preliminary information about active alarms on each server role on the server, do the following:

    • In the Roles pane, expand the Server node (click the small triangle beside the Server) to display all server roles on the server.

    • Click a specific Server Role node. Only active alarms associated with the selected server role display in the pane on the right side.

  7. To view detailed information about an individual alarm (including the alarm corrective action):

    • Select the alarm and click View (or just double-click the alarm). The Active Alarm Details screen displays detailed information about the alarm.

    • To view a drop-down list containing the corrective action for the alarm, click the small right-pointing arrow that appears to the left of the alarm name.

  8. If you have performed the corrective action for the alarm, you can click Acknowledge to acknowledge the alarm and place it in alarm history.
